Youthful skin appears plump, hydrated and elastic because of the high levels of hyaluronic acid (HA) it possesses. As we age, the levels of HA in our skin reduces. Dermal fillers replace depleted levels of HA to restore plumpness to skin and soften lines, giving you a more youthful appearance. Fillers are administered using a fine needle to fill facial lines or wrinkles or replace lost volume.
Popular areas for dermal filler treatment are the nose to mouth lines (nasolabial folds), lines from the corner of the mouth to the chin (marionette lines) and the fine lines which can form around the lip border (commonly referred to as smokers’ lines although it is not just smokers’ who experience these lines)
WHAT TO EXPECT
Any treatment follows a detailed consultation, during which we will establish your requirements and make recommendations for how this may be achieved. If you decide to proceed with dermal filler treatment we will discuss at length the various products available to you in order to achieve the desired outcome.
Dermal filler is delivered using ultra fine needles and any discomfort can be further minimised by using combinations of topical anaesthetic cream, dental nerve blocks and by selecting a filler containing local anaesthetic.
Following treatment you may experience some temporary swelling, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites. These effects may last a few days at most and for most clients are minimal.
